What a success!

Wow. That is all I can really say. You people are amazing! The outpouring of love and generosity has been tremendous!

The carnival today was a success...for so many reasons. A success because every one of those kiddos that was there today had a blast! A success because people showed up who don't even know the Petersons but are a part of their church family and bigger yet, a part of our Christ family. A success because we raised enough money to cover their initial medical costs for this surgery!

A huge thank you to all of you who helped throw this thing together! It took lots of people with big hearts and I so appreciate each and every one of you!

To continue to follow the Petersons on this journey, please visit their blog

If you are local, we will be delivering meals to them when they get out of the hospital for a while. You can sign up at:
www.takethemameal.com
Last name: Peterson
Password: Jack

And if you are far far away, you can send them gift cards to places like Subway (there is one in the Children's hospital and Brian's favorite), Wendy's, Sonic, Pei Wei and Papa Johns. And for special treats Starbucks

Thank you!

Bring on the food

If you are one of those that love to serve by bringing people meals then head on over to www.takethemameal.com and sign up to bring the Petersons some dinners. Pick the date, tell 'em what you'll bring, and if you give your email, it will send you a reminder the day before. Search by last name and the password is: Jack. No seafood or cheese, please. Kid friendly meals are the best :)

For those out-of-towners, again, sending gift cards to places would be the best thing. They are planning on spending 2 weeks in the hospital after Jack's surgery so most likely they will be eating out, a lot. There is a Subway and Taco Bell/Pizza Hut in the Children's Hospital, along with Ben & Jerry's for a special after dinner treat :) If you need their address, send me an email and I'll be happy to pass it along to you. amberzaccagni@gmail.com

Jack's story

If you aren't familiar with Jack's journey visit the Peterson's blog at www.petersonadventures.tumblr.com

out of town Peeps can help too!

You love the Petersons dearly and are so sad you aren't in NashVegas to hug them, bring them homecooked meals, or come to the FUNdraising carnival for Jack. Have no fear...you still can help! Just click on the donate button to the right to help offset the medical costs or you can send gift cards to yummy local eateries (since you can't deliver your delicious meatloaf). Places like Wendy's, Sonic, Papa Johns, and Chick-fil-A would be awesome! I know Sally LOVES Pei Wei (hint hint). And most importantly, don't forget to keep these wonderful Petersons in your prayers!

A carnival for Jack

A few days ago, my almost 8 year old daughter overheard me talking to Sally about Jack's upcoming surgery. When I got off the phone, my daughter asked me what I was talking about on the phone. I told her about Jack's surgery and also explained how these things cost a lot of money. Then she said, "Well let 's raise some money for them!" and her idea..."let's have a carnival!" And that is exactly what we are going to do!

Now, we need your help. We are going to have this carnival on Saturday, July 10th. We don't have a location yet and are hoping to have it in the afternoon/evening. If you know of a place or if you have a property that you can offer, let me know asap! We are working on a few options. My daughter has come up with her carnival "booths" and game ideas, but we don't have all the supplies. Here are a list of things that we will need to make this happen.

about 10-15 tables
folding chairs
5 old pillow cases
dunk tank or bounce house
helium tank
1 or 2 kids fishing poles
bean bags
any carnival type game/supplies
megaphone or small sound system

We are also planning a raffle and would love for people to donate items...anything from gift cards to restaurants, movie tickets, events, products, anything you'd like!

The day of we are going to need volunteer to work at each booth. More to come on that!

If you would like to donate your time, supplies, or just want to get involved, please send me an email at amberzaccagni@gmail.com

This will be such a fun time to love on the Petersons while raising them some FUNds!!!!
